“Black suits everyone doesn’t it?”

Fashion has never been my strong point. As a little girl, I always doodled designs that I thought I would one day sell for millions and live in Milan and sip cocktails by the pool (I dreamed big) but that’s as far as it ever went.

When I was eventually allowed to shop and choose my own clothes I would often just follow my friend’s advice of what was in fashion at the time.

Once university finished and I didn’t have as much influence from friends most of my wardrobe would consist of black jeans and colourful tops. Sometimes even just all black for ease and comfort.

It was only a few months ago I started hearing about stylists and that you could “have your colours done” I had no idea at the time what that meant but I was interested.

As a brand photographer, I often get asked from my clients what they should wear for their photoshoots but also what colours would work best for themselves and their brand.

Although I have a good idea and can often give a little advice I’m by no means an expert in this area and definitely no role model for style.

I met Luciene through Mint Business Club and we got chatting more about colours and how the process works.

Late last year I was able to experience working with Lucienne for a two-chapter session. Even from my first session, I began to see the difference the colours made to my complexion and skin tonne straight away.

Lucienne’s passion for what she does really made the experience very special and easy to follow. She gave me lots of hints and tips to be able to take away so I could begin experimenting with my clothes at home and eventually when I went shopping for new items.

I now am more aware of what colours are more suited to me and my warm colour pallet which has been a revelation.

It was such an eye-opener going home to my wardrobe to see the concoction of colours and amount of black jeans that I owned.

I found the whole experience fascinating not only from my personal view but professional view too. Having this experience allowed me to have a better understanding of how colours work for individuals that I am photographing for their brands.

I feel more confident in recommending this service to my clients as I can talk them through how the process works. Which is wonderful!
